Past pupil Matthew came to visit today and brought with him this magnificent tree that he has constructed himself. He also made the reindeer. What amazing craftsmanship! Matthew is kindly gifting the tree to the school.
Go raibh mile maith agat! The children from the school band and the school choir led by Mrs. Canney and Ms. Callaghan were delighted to perform in the church last weekend for the Sr. Francis musical appreciation concert. Sr. Francis taught her in St. Joseph's for many years and was involved in promoting all aspects of music. Well done to all involved. It was a fantastic experience to hear all that Ballinrobe has to offer!
Patrick took on a Lego Challenge. He built this free standing structure which measures 85cm tall! Very impressive!
4th class put in a fantastic effort on dress up day this Halloween.
They, with all the other classes really enjoyed all the fun and games in the hall organised by the TY pupils in Ballinrobe Community School. A big thank you to them for coming every year to run this for us! The Lab-a-Dab-a-Doo team visited first class and everyone enjoyed their science experiments.
The experiments, including lava lamps, magic milk, invisible ink, and hatching spider ponds which demonstrated different chemical reactions, were met with enthusiasm and curiosity by the students, and it was a pleasure to witness their engagement and excitement. Ms Flannery's class had a super time at a puppet show in the library this week. It was so funny and everyone had such a good laugh! Thanks to Mary our local librarian for organising these visits.
We are delighted to be participating in the Team Hope Christmas Shoebox Appeal. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children in our school to share joy and excitement with children who live in circumstances where these can often be in short supply. We thank you for your generosity in previous years, and look forward to your continued support. You will find examples of what to put in the boxes attached to this letter and details on the website where you can find more information. www.teamhope.ie/christmas-shoebox-appeal/ . Ms. Grimes' 4th class went to the library and listened to author Serena Molloy speak about her first children's book " Wider Than The Sea"
Congratulations to Lucy who won a signed copy for asking the best question during the session. |
