We are still promoting the travel theme from Green Schools Ireland. Where possible children are asked to walk to and from school each day. Classes with the most walkers receive extra golden time.

We had to figure out how to complete the circuit to play our Makey Makey piano. We used a banana, teaspoon, graphite from a pencil and a topper as conductors.

Fifth class are joining in a Skype in the classroom Christmas exchange. We are preparing for our Skype session with our partners in the USA! We will also exchange cards and give details on our particular country's traditions.
For Climate Action week our mission is NO REFUSE. Please try and be mindful of this during the week. Fashion show on Friday for Halloween - we encourage children to make their costumes from recycled materials.
Children from all different classes are enjoying the many sporting activities organised by the Goal to Work team. Here are 1st class learning some new gaelic skills. Future stars!
5th class have joined up with schools in Finland, Poland and Greece. They have a shared blog and will upload pictures and files about what's going on in each school. It will be great to see the different events at different times of the year in the four different schools.
Barry came 2nd in the 3rd/4th class boys race in the Mayo Schools Cross Country and will compete in the Connaught finals Oct 21st in Roscommon.
Grace won gold in the 3rd/4th class girls Mayo Schools Cross Country finals in Belleek Ballina and will compete in the Connaught finals in Roscommon on Oct 21st 3rd/4th class Boys Team who won gold in Belleek ,Ballina and will compete in the Connaught on Oct 21st in Roscommon. 3rd/4th class Girls team that won silver in the Mayo cross country finals and will compete in the Connaughts on Oct 21st in Roscommon. Well done to all the children who participated in the cross country event on Thursday @ Ballinrobe Racecourse. Many thanks to the racecourse for the use of the venue and to Ms. Grimes and Joan for the training and organising.
