Children from second class really enjoyed the after school art club over the past few weeks. Thanks to Ms. Macken and Ms. Brinklow for organising it.
Any parent / grandparent / guardian that may have an activity to offer the classes during active week (after easter) please contact Ms. Lorraine Grimes or the school office on 094 9541464
Children from senior infants presented Josephine (Down Syndrome Ireland, Mayo branch) with a cheque for €460. Well done and thanks to all who contributed to make this a special day.
We're proud to be doing our bit here in St. Joseph's for Down Syndrome Awareness Week. 6th class students visited all classes and read a story to them about Down Syndrome. We will also have an 'odd sock' day tomorrow. All pupils are asked to bring €2 to support. You can read more about awareness week at
https://www.downs-syndrome.org.uk/about/campaigns/awareness-week-2017/ Féach anseo ar Maria ag cleachtadh don cheolchoirm oíche de hAoine. Beidh páistí ag rince, ag canadh agus ag seinm úirlisí éagsúla.
Congratulations to Sarah on winning a medal for the St. Patrick's Day art competition. She did a lovely drawing.
Congratulations to Ally in fifth class on her nomination for best actress in the Bord Gais Student Theatre Awards! Best of luck to her and her teacher Mrs. Catriona Canney on the big day.
