Frank Salmon visited 6th class to share his journey to success as CEO of CMS Distribution. Frank is very involved in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme and was very impressed with the children's products Seeded Notepaper and Football Frenzy Board Game which are currently on sale in St Joseph's. Johnny and Elaine were the winners of a Fitbit Watch sponsored by Frank.
Huge congratulations and well done to both our boys and girls Cumann na mBunscol teams who have both qualified for the Division 1A Cumann na mBunscol County final after both beating The Quay Ballina in two thrilling encounters last Friday in Castlebar. Well done to their coaches Alan Plunkett, Thomas O'Connor, Mairead Seoighe and Lorraine Grimes for training the children and supporting them on the sidelines!
Congratulations to both our boys and girls Cumann na mBunscol teams who won the South/East section of Cumann na mBunscol Maigh Eo. Both teams now progress to the semi final stage where they will meet The Quay Ballina. We wish both teams the best of luck!
Well done to our boys hurling team who competed for the first time in Division 1 Cumann na mBunscol. The team played Ballyhaunis and Tooreen and the improvement in the skills of the boys was noted by all in attendance. St. Joseph's wish Tooreen NS all the best in the next round.
Congratulations to all! Our school has achieved an SFI Curious Minds Gold Award by providing evidence of engagement in the following areas
St Joseph’s are restarting our Walking Bus next Thursday 18th of May. It will run every Thursday until the end of term.
There will be two meeting places, where parents can drop their children, Supermacs and Dunleavys. There will be at least two adults accompanying the walking bus from these points to the school. Drop off can start from 8.20am and the walking bus leaves at 8.30am. Looking forward to everyone getting on board! Both of our sixth classes are engaged in the Junior Entrepeneur Programme. This gives students the opportunity to experience practical, real-life business learning as part of their formative education.
Mr. Kenny's class have designed a board game with a football theme and Mr. Walsh's class are making seeded paper. Well done all on your wonderful & inventive ideas.
