.Ms Roche’s 5th class have been busy preparing for the VEX Robotics competition since September. VEX is an exciting, fun robotics programme which engages children in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). The programme involves designing, building and programming a robot and driving it to complete various challenges on the constructed arena.
The class competed in the VEX competition on Friday 13th January in ATU Galway. The class had a magnificent day competing against other schools around Mayo and Galway. It was a fantastic experience attending the university and being able to present and drive their unique robot in team challenges. The class would like to thank Thermoking for sponsoring the Robot kits and the teachers involved - Ms Roche, Ms Culhane and Ms Henry. We are very proud of 5th class’ hard work and dedication to this project. They represented themselves and the school extremely well at the event.
