Connacht Rugby! We are loving the fun, exercise and fresh air! Ms. Grimes' 4th class are loving their ukulele lessons with Jamie! We are improving every week!
Click below for a little taster of what the children are learning. Ms. Flannery's class are getting a head start on their coding skills by using Scratch Junior on the iPads. We were delighted and honoured that the Minister for Education, Norma Foley visited our school today. She enjoyed presentations from the school council, visited our ASD unit & various classrooms, received gifts of freshly grown vegetables from our polytunnel and listened to our beautiful school choir conducted by Mrs. Canney. Members of the Board of Management and Parents Council were also in attendance to welcome the Minister.
Minister Foley also presented us with the Cinealtas Flag - we are the second school in the entire country to be awared this flag. This is to commend our school on being a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. The principal, deputy principal and all of our management team feel incredibly privileged to have been part of this visit today. Ms. Gallagher's class learned lots about 'long, longer, longest' during their maths lesson on measurement. They constructed some wonderful monster pieces and worked on number concepts.
Congratulations to Lucy in 4th class who finished in 8th place in the 3rd/4th class Girls race and to our 5th/6th class girls team who claimed a team bronze in their race in the County Schools Cross Country finals in Belleek, Ballina today.
Best of luck to all the girls in the Connacht Cross Country in Tuam on October 11th |
